About Alex Ambelang

Alex was born and raised in Hamilton, Montana where she participated in Pony Club, eventing, hunter/jumpers and dressage. She competed in areas 7 & 9 for 15 years and achieved her HA/B Traditional Pony Club certifications while attending University of Montana in Missoula, Montana where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Cultural and Medical Anthropology. Upon graduating Alex jumped at the chance to continue her equestrian career and accepted a grooming job on the east coast.

Following her move east, Alex groomed professionally for 8 years with multiple upper level eventing programs through the 5* level, including Defender Kentucky (Rolex), Burghley and CHIO Aachen. Her work as a groom inspired her to pursue her FEI stewarding license. Alex obtained her FEI stewarding license in 2021 and has stewarded many events in the Mid-Atlantic region since. Today, she works at Virginia Tech's Marion duPont Scott Equine Medical Center in Leesburg, Virginia as a clinical veterinary assistant while balancing FEI stewarding commitments and free lance grooming. Outside of the equine world, Alex enjoys traveling, hiking with her dog and playing volleyball.
