About Burr Holton

Burr joined the EEI Board of Directors in 1997 and briefly served Interim Executive Director. Born in Tucson, AZ, on an Air Force Base but was raised in Lexington, KY. Burr attended WKU and was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity.  After WKU, Burr took a year off and moved to Aspen, CO, for the Winter season and then to NYC and Newport, RI, for the Summer. 



Back to Lexington, Burr began a long banking career with the original First Security Bank, dealing primarily with the medical community and as Vice President of Private Banking in Wealth Management with Chase Bank and finishing with BB&T as Vice President of Corporate Deposits. 


Burr always enjoyed horses but did not begin riding until he was in his early 30’s.  With the help of the famous Cathy Murphy and Maggie Wright of Champagne Run he learned quickly, enjoying jumping and had the opportunity to fox hunt as well.


Burr has traveled extensively throughout  Europe, Island nations and many years in Naples, Florida. EEI has always been important to Burr, and he looks forward to continuing his participation a member of the EEI Founder’s Board.
