Cavan is a native of Madisonville, KY, and he attended Midway University, where he graduated with a BA in Sports Management. Cavan served in the US Navy as an Operations Specialist. He previously worked for the American Horse Show Association as the information resources coordinator, the United States Dressage Federation as competition coordinator, Lane’s End Farm as foreman and the United States Equestrian Federation as international competition consultant.



Cavan has been on several boards, including Skycrest Neighborhood Association, Greater Gardenside Association and Wolf Run Watershed Council. He volunteers with the Catholic Action Center.

Cavan currently is the Project Manager/Competition Assistant for EEI. He and his wife Whitney, who works at USHJA, have two dogs. Noah and Higgins keep them busy with their antics but bring them so much joy. His personal interests are cooking, gardening, aviation, hiking and golfing.
