Jen is originally from Cleveland, Ohio, and earned her BA from Morehead State University and her MA from the University of Louisville. Along with her husband, Dr. Stuart Brown, she owns and manages Brownstead Farm, which specializes in raising, selling and racing Thoroughbreds, as well as training them for sport horse careers. In addition, she is co-owner of Topine Communications, which specializes in brand strategy, project management, content creation, media relations and PR. She also writes for several publications in the racing and equestrian realms. 



In addition to the EEI board, Jen serves on several boards and committees, including the Kentucky Horse Council (Vice President), Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance (advisory board and communications committee), National HBPA aftercare committee, Kentucky Historical Society Foundation, and Wasabi Ventures' The Horse Fund.
