Resa is a native of Cynthiana, KY and a graduate of the University of Kentucky. She holds a Master’s Degree in sports and event management from the University of Georgia. She is owner/operator of Seeds & Saplings, a children’s specialty store in Georgetown’s historic downtown. She also teaches event planning as an adjunct professor at Georgetown College.

Resa is active in the community as a volunteer for Scott County Schools, as a commissioner on the Georgetown/Scott County Tourism Commission and the board of directors at the Lexington Children’s Theatre. In addition, she is a member of Georgetown/Scott County Chamber of Commerce, the Scott County Woman’s Club and Grace Christian Church. She and her husband, Brian, have two children, Hannah and Clark.
